HL-GA Battery Company is excited to call Bryan County home and drive the EV transition in America! Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution committed an investment of more than $4.3 billion to establish HL-GA Battery Company. Our battery cell manufacturing joint venture is strategically located outside beautiful Savannah, Georgia and is scheduled to start production early 2026. HL-GA Battery Company is one of the largest projects in the state of Georgia history.
HL-GA Battery Company will supply next-generation battery technology to manufacturing facilities for production of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EV models. The new facility will help create a stable supply of batteries in the region and allow for a quick response to the global EV demand.

Joint Venture LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor Group
Long-time Partners
LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor Group have long been partners in the field of electrification. LG Energy Solution worked with Hyundai Motor Group to supply EV batteries for vehicles, including Elantra Hybrid, Kona Electric, and IONIQ 6 dedicated EV. The Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, LPi vehicle introduced in 2009, was HMG’s first electrified model. In 2021, the two power houses started a battery cell joint venture in Indonesia which started production in early 2024. The successful collaboration combined strengths, capabilities, and resources for a shared vision.
